tennis courts

We have nine tennis courts in total at the club: three new floodlit hard courts, three floodlit artificial clay courts, and a further three rejuvenated hard courts.

Our three newest tennis courts were opened in 2020. These floodlit hard courts are porous macadam which drain easily, are slip resistant and are playable in all conditions.

Our most popular tennis courts are the three floodlit artificial clay courts. These courts are playable in all conditions and with a flexible, shock-absorbing surface, they provide less stress on the feet, back and legs during play. Thanks to the softer surface, the speed of play is slower than on hard courts, resulting in longer rallies, and opportunities for more varied strokes and a more controlled game.

Our oldest three courts are unlit tarmac, which were recently repainted and given a slip resistant treatment so are safely playable in all but the wettest or frostiest conditions.

“I love the clay courts best of all so I can slide.”
