FAQs

We hope that any questions you might have about the club, or about becoming a member, are answered on this page. But if there’s anything else we can help with, please drop us a line at hello@eshertennis.co.uk.

General

  • I'm thinking about joining, can I come to the club for a visit or a trial?

Absolutely. We encourage potential members to visit the club before deciding whether to join. Please contact us at membership@eshertennis.co.uk and we’ll be very happy to arrange a time for you to come and visit the club.

  • How do I book a court?

Court bookings are handled by the LTA’s ClubSpark system which you can access by clicking ‘Court Booking’ at the top of this website.

  • I don't know any other members. HOw do I arrange a game?

We pride ourselves on being a friendly, welcoming club so we’re confident you’ll soon get to know other members. For tennis, the best place to start is one of our dedicated tennis mix-in sessions, which happen every week on Tuesday evening, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Most padel matches are arranged via WhatsApp groups. We’ll add you to the appropriate groups when you start your membership.

  • I've left something at the club. Where can I find lost property?

We have a lost property cupboard in the Clubhouse corridor. If you need assistance, please ask any one of the coaching team who will be happy to help try and locate your missing item.

  • Do you sell rackets, balls and other equipment?

Our coaching team are always happy to advise on tennis rackets and padel bats, and can source these from Head and Adidas upon request. Tennis and padel balls are sold at the Deuce Bar (subject to availability).

  • Can I bring a guest to the club?

You are very welcome to bring a guest to play at the club. The same guest can play 3 times a season (6 times a year). There is a small charge of £10 per guest (£2 for juniors). Details of how to pay are included in the members welcome pack.

  • I don't have my own racket. Can I borrow one?

No problem, the club has a small selection of rackets you can use. We would encourage members to purchase their own rackets however. If you’re not sure which is the right racket for you, please ask a member of the coaching team.

  • I'd love to arrange some lessons. How do I do that?

Check out our coaching programme - we have sessions for all ages and abilities. If you have any questions, let us know at or speak to a member of our coaching team and they’ll be happy to recommend the right sessions for you.

  • Can you restring my racket for me?

Yes we can. We have a stringing machine and a selection of strings at the club. If you’d like some advice on the right string setup for you, please speak to one of our coaching team and they’ll be happy to help. If you already know which strings and tension you’d like, please just drop it in the Clubhouse and complete a stringing information slip with the details.

Coaching

  • What happens if a session is called off due to bad weather?

Our all-weather courts mean we’re able to run coaching sessions in almost all conditions. However, if it is unsafe to run a session, we will cancel and provide catch up sessions or credits which can be used to book future sessions.

  • I've booked a session that I now can't make. Can I have a refund?

Unfortunately bookings can’t be cancelled or amended, other than in exceptional circumstances. In this event we would offer credits to book future sessions. This is due to the costs incurred for making changes to bookings and for processing refunds.

  • I'd love to have some one-to-one lessons. How do I arrange that?

Please speak to a member of our coaching team and they’ll be happy to try and arrange a time and day that works for you.
